In the Bible, the word fat is used to describe the most prized part of the animal, so valuable that they were originally reserved to burnt at Alter in a sacrifice to God himself. Historically, fat has been used in a figurative sense to describe abundance, exuberance, robustness, fertility, or outward success.
But nowadays, fat has become almost exclusively pejorative...associated with Laziness, disgust, slovenliness, greed and gluttony.
But what exactly is fat and why has it cone to have such a negative connotation?
Biologically speaking, fats are a subgroup of a category of nutrients called lipids, the chemical name fir a group of compounds that include fats, oils and cholesterol. A lipid is generally referred to as a fat if it remains solid at room temperature and as an oil if it is liquid at room temperature. Fats and oils comes only from plant and animal products, whereas cholesterol comes only from animal product e.g (meat,poultry,milk and cheese) .
